About HCI
A Micanopy builder with deep local roots.
Third-generation Micanopy resident and builder Tug Huddleston founded Hudd Construction Inc. in 2007 to give clients an extraordinary level of personal service, and to run a debt-free company.
Tug believes respecting both clients and staff is what makes a building company work, and he builds lasting personal relationships with the families he builds for. With a combined 40 years of experience, Tug and his team design and build custom homes and remodels for clients across Alachua County.

Questions
Do you build on my land?
Yes. We build custom homes on your lot. If you're still deciding on land, we're happy to walk a property with you and talk through what it would take to build there.
Do you do remodels, or only new homes?
Both. Along with new homes we remodel kitchens and bathrooms, build lanais and additions, and bring older work up to code.
What does a custom home cost per square foot?
There isn't one standard number. Price depends on your plan, your lot and the finishes you choose. We'll price your home in writing before you commit.
What makes a home "green"?
Things like better insulation and windows, efficient systems and smart material choices that lower your power bills in Florida's heat. We'll show you which options are worth it for your home and budget.
How long does a custom home take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the home, permitting, selections and weather. Once your plan and finishes are set, we'll give you a schedule for your build.
